The Neurosurgery Department at Almana Hospital Ahsa received a patient suffering from severe headache, heaviness and weakness in the left side of the body, along with numbness and reduced sensations. Radiological investigations revealed a massive right fronto-parietal vascular brain tumor, located in the motor and sensory areas, making the surgery extremely high risk due to the possibility of mortality or complete left-sided paralysis.
Thanks to advanced neurosurgical techniques, including minimally invasive microscopic surgery, the operation was performed through a small incision of less than 5 cm, and the tumor was completely removed.
Following the surgery, the patient regained movement and sensation on the left side, was able to walk the next day, and was discharged home a few days later in good health.
