Physical Therapy Department of AGH – Jubail provides to all referred patients the highest standards of care based on up-to-date theory and technology, complying with the current standard of practice and code of ethics.
We provide the highest possible service to all referred patients therefore Physical Therapy is service directed towards:
- Physical examination and analysis of patient condition
- The use of therapeutic physical and chemical agents, exercise or other procedures to maximize function.
- Treatment that focuses on posture, movement, strength, endurance, heart/lung function abilities for daily living skills.
- Maintenance of vital capacity and prevention of chest complications.
- The use of orthotic, prosthetic or assistive device.
- Periodic follow up. Patient and family education.

PHYSICAL THERAPY IS EQUIPPED WITH:
- Continuous Passive Motion Machine
Continuous Passive Range of Motion machine used to increase range of motion of knee.
- Short Wave Diathermy (SWD)
A device that uses electro magnetic energy, which when applied to the body can promote:
Functional restoration and analgesia
Facilitation of healing of injured tissues
- Electrotherapy
The therapeutic use of electricity to treat pain, muscle atrophy, muscular weakness and swelling:
- Trasncutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) for the treatment of pain, spasm and parasthesia.
- Interferential Therapy – a type of electrical stimulation that can relieve pain and reduce swelling by using the difference between two (different) medium frequencies applied to the body.
- Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) – the use of electricity where an actual muscle contraction is produce, i.e. FES on biceps muscle, produces flexion of the elbow joint.
- Intermittent Compression Units – are devices used in reducing edematous or swollen extremities, e.g. Plexipulse Machine.
- Therapeutic Gym – a multi-functional exercise station used in body conditioning and muscle strengthening regime. It can accommodate several persons at a time with as many different functions.
- Hydrotheraphy – Hot pack, ice pack, paraffin wax.
- Traction Unit (Cervical and Lumbar) – devices used to stretch spine segment to ease nerve impingement and relieve cervical or lumbar injuries.
- Ultra Sound (Therapeutic) – the therapeutic application of ultra sound waves to the body for treatment of adhesions, pain and soft tissue healing.
- Tilt Table – a device use to gradually reorient the patient into vertical position.

Saturday - Tuesday (08:00 am - 12:00 pm & 04:00 pm - 09:00 pm)
Wednesday (08:00 am - 12:00 pm & 04:00 pm - 08:00 pm)
Thursday (0800 am- 1200 pm only)
