Accident and Emergency Services

Accident & Emergency Department of AGH- Jubail is a very busy department. It offers 24 hours service for all Medical, Surgical and Pediatric any other condition requiring emergency care. 
Patients are triaged or categorized according to severity of their condition and, in a timely manner, managed accordingly. 
The department is guided by Policies & Procedures. The medical and nursing staff participate in continuing education, seminars and conferences. All are Basic Life Support certified, some possess Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification and others, in the near future will participate in Advance Trauma Life Support training for certification.

Providing Emergency Health Care for all medical and surgical conditions with highly qualified staff around the clock in Jubail area and its expanding industrial region.
VISION:

To continuously update both technical and clinical knowledge in the area of Emergency Care provision in order to ensure maximum patient safety and satisfaction.
VALUES:

Providing efficient Emergency Health Care in a cost effective way aiming at better use of resources, high standards of care and patient satisfaction.
SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Evaluate, stabilize, and treat emergency patients as indicated.
• Admission and follow-up care.
• Transfer patients if necessary.
• Refer patients to other departments for further consultation, e.g. Orthopedic, General Surgery, etc.
• 24 hour Pediatrician and Obstetric & Gynecological on floor coverage.
• Accept casualties from external disasters, e.g. fires, gas leaks, explosions, major road traffic and other accidents.
• Participate in local company drills.
• Cater for all Pediatric emergencies.
• Treat acute Medical Emergencies, e.g. chest pain, cardiac arrest, and other cardiac conditions.
• Provide ambulance services.
• The department is supported by 24 hours Intensive Care facilities.
• Operating room cover 24 hours for emergencies.
• Emergency Laboratory, Radiology including CT Scan and Ultra Sound always available.

E.R. ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
I. FACILITIES:

• Reception
• 4 Regular Beds (2 designated female beds)
• CPR, Polytrauma Beds: 2 beds fully equipped for management of cardiac and trauma cases.
• Waiting area
• Doctors’ room
• 24 hours X-ray, CT facility
• 24 hours Laboratory services for basic investigation
• Triage area: Parking area in front of A & E Department
• Parking

II. STAFF
A. Medical 
ER Doctors: 24-hours/7 days/week

• Two qualified ER Doctors / 8 hours shift 
• One at least 4 years experience 
• Nurse Staff: 3 – 4 Nurses / 8 hours shift (total 13 Nurses) 

B. Paramedical: porters housekeeping

• Ambulance Drivers 
• Receptionist
