As you will be spending most of your time in your room at the hospital, special care and attention have gone into creating a relaxed atmosphere. Each room is designed to provide maximum privacy. Your room either overlooks the beautiful Gulf sea. In addition for your comfort and convenience, the following services are available:

During your stay in the hospital, you will be required to wear a name band around your wrist or ankle to ensure positive identification at all times. You will also be requested to wear only clothes provided by the hospital authorities, for the duration of stay.
Several facilities are at your disposal that will make your stay as convenient and comfortable as possible.
Bedside telephones are provided in your rooms, for local calls. To make an outstation or overseas call, please dial 'O' for operator's help. Card/coin phones are also available.
In addition, AGH provides a direct inward dialing facility that helps you log a call to the hospital and directly reach the required extension by adding the number to the main hospital number.
Balanced diet is an important aspect of your complete recovery. Clinical dietitians will help you select your menu according to the diet prescribed by the doctor. Although food from home or outside is strictly not allowed, different 'menus' will be suitably presented to you, everyday.

Our patient relation officer and social services staff, who can be helpful for you are available to assist you and provide support towards your wellbeing. If you need any such assistance, please contact the nurse in charge.
We have a well stocked hospital pharmacy, which will provide all necessary medication during your stay.
Take-home medication
As per your physician's instructions, the prescribed medicine will be handed over to you at the nursing station at the time of discharge.
The hospital cannot accept responsibility for the loss of your valuables. However, if you misplace something, please notify the head nurse on your floor or call security to report the incident. For security emergencies, please call extension 3120.
For fire emergencies, call extension 4444.
The hospital (Al Khobar) has a lost and found service for patients. The contact extension is 3133.
With your doctor's approval, you may visit the hospital's public facilities for brief periods, but always accompanied by your attendant. Please notify the nurse in charge of your absence during this period. Wheel chairs are available on request with the nursing staff.
We request your co-operation in using the hospital facilities with due care and respect.
The following special services are provided to patients at extra cost:
i. Prayers - Qibla, copies of the Holy Quran, prayer mats available at the nurses' station
ii. Car park - Visitors are requested to park in the designated parking areas only and are requested not to block the hospital traffic. Please do not park:
- In front of the patient drop off area outside the hospital
- In front of the emergency room
- Parking is at the owner's risk, if the vehicle is parked on the roadside or drop off points at the hospital
- At Al Khobar, parking space for your vehicles is available near the hospital and in front of the OPD building
iii. ATM facilities are available within the hospital premises
An attendant is permitted to stay with the patient at all times, unless indicated by the consulting physician or nurse in charge. However, the companion form must be signed before hand.
- Attendants are not allowed to sleep on the patient's bed
- If the patient is a child, the attendant must strictly be the child's parent
- No male attendant will be allowed in a female ward unless there is a written permission issued by the hospital authorities
- Only three bedside visitors are allowed at a time, during visiting hours
- Attendants and visitors may use hospital catering services, which are available at reasonable prices. Guests, have the option to order through room service

Only your doctor can decide your discharge date. Patients can be discharged at any time during day, before 12 noon. However the dischage procedure might require some time, as your records need to be in order. At the time of discharge, please ensure that:

Please call or visit the appointment counter of the relevant consulting clinics at the hospital for booking appointments. They will register your name and medical record (MR) number which is listed on your white plastic card. If this is your first visit or you do not have the white card, you will be given an appointment by name. However, if you have your card and MR number, you can avoid delays in procedure, as it will ensure that your Medical Record is present, during your consultation.
On the day of appointment:
On arriving at the Out patient department, if you have your MR number, you can directly proceed the corresponding clinic's counter and get yourself registered. If not, please get your MR file at the Registration Counter and proceed to the respective clinic's counter. The unit receptionist will register you under the relevant doctor and your medical file would be forwarded to the nurse to initiate the process. The nurse will begin the examination by taking your pulse, blood pressure count and other details.
