Cardiology

Heart disease and blood vessel disorders are the primary causes of death in the modern world. The main contributing factors are high fat food, smoking, Diabetes Mellitus, hypertension, obesity, stress and lack of or inadequate exercise. Most of these contributing factors can be modified.

The Cardiology Department has the facilities to diagnose and treat all major diseases of the heart and blood vessels. The department plays a major role in prevention of cardiac related diseases through advice and education.

Facilities and Services available at AGH-Hofuf
Clinical : well equipped 12 beds ICU/CCU

Non- Invasive:

Electrocardiogram ( ECG )
2-D Echocardiography and Colored Doppler
Holter monitoring
Exercise Stress Testing
Invasive and Interventional:

Temporary pacemaker implantation
Central venous line placement
For invasive, interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery, services are available at AGH Dammam and Khobar respectively on a referral basis.

Hours of Operation:

Saturday - Thursday (08:00 am - 12:00 pm & 04:00 pm - 08:00 pm

Note: (On-call services 24 hours a day / 7 days a week)
