Scope of Service

Types of Patients Served

The RT department provides its services to all patients for all age groups (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adult and elderly).

Range of Treatments or Activities Performed

The practice of respiratory care encompasses activities in: diagnostic evaluation, therapy, and education of the patient and family. These activities are supported by education, research, and administration. Diagnostic activities include but are not limited to: obtaining and analyzing physiological specimens interpreting physiological data, performing tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system,

Therapy includes but is not limited to the application and monitoring of: medical gases (excluding anesthetic gases) and environmental control systems; mechanical ventilator support; artificial airway care bronchopulmonary hygiene; pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures; and hemodynamic cardiovascular support.

Types of Staff Carrying Out these Activities

All treatment are carried out by qualified Respiratory Technicians who are licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Health

Sites where Care and Service are Provided

The services are provided to all inpatient areas.

Time When Care and Service are Provided

The services cover 10 hours / day for all procedures in addition of 24 hours / day for emergency cases. The emergency services are s covered on-call Respiratory Therapists

Hours of Operation:

Saturday - Thursday (08:00 am - 12:00 pm & 04:00 pm - 08:00 pm

Note: (On-call services 24 hours a day / 7 days a week)
