Scope of Service

Types of Patients Served

In general, people take it for granted their ability to conceive and have a child. But 1:6 couple have difficulty in achieving a pregnancy causing much heartache. Our Assisted Reproduction Unit at Dammam provides consultation, investigation and all modalities of fertility treatment.

Remarkable progress has been made in the treatment of infertility since the birth of the first “ test-tube “ baby in 1978 by the pioneering work of Dr. Patrick Steptoe and Prof. Robert Edwards in Cambridge, United Kingdom.

The Director of the assisted Reproduction Unit, Dr. Kini who worked for several years with Dr. Steptoe and Prof. Edwards in Cambridge, oversees the team at the Assisted Reproduction Unit.

Our Assisted Reproduction Unit was opened in March 1990 and is one of the oldest, most reputable and well established fertility units in Saudi Arabia. We treat both female as well as male infertility.

Range of Treatments or Activities Performed

After investigations and diagnosis, we undertake the most appropriate treatment like ovulation induction, controlled ovarian stimulation and Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI), controlled ovarian hyperstimulation, In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Embryo Transfer and Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Micro Injection (ICSI). We have an active programme for freezing and also In-vitro maturation of oocytes with excellent pregnancy rates.

Types of Staff Carrying Out these Activities

In the team we have very experienced Gynaecological Endocrinologists, clinical embryologists, fertility nurses and ultrasonographers.

Sites Where Care and Service Are Provided

The purpose built unit consists of clinical area which has reception area, consulting rooms, ultrasound room and counseling room. The laboratory consists of andrology lab, embryo laboratory, microinjection laboratory and freezing laboratory.

Times When Care and Service Are Provided

We respect the privacy and confidentiality of all the couples attending the clinic. We abide by the religious and ethical regulations of Saudi Arabia. During the treatment cycle the patients are able to discuss their treatment, freely and in complete confidence. The staff of the clinic and the doctors are always accessible either in person or by telephone. Our Services are available 6 days a week on clinic times: 0800 hours – 1200 hours and 1600 hours – 2000 hours from Saturday to Thursday.

Saturday - Thursday (08:00 am - 12:00 pm & 04:00 pm - 08:00 pm
